This proposal examines the accuracy of coding micro counseling skills using Artificial Intelligence (AI). Our research team will compare AI- and human-rater-coded microskills using inter-rater reliability analysis. Two human raters and AI software will independently code a counseling session transcript. The findings will provide empirical evidence on the accuracy, reliability, and utility of AI in counseling, helping counselors and counselor educators make informed decisions about adopting AI.
