Using culturally appropriate assessments with d/Deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) people is essential, and counselors must be aware of potential validity concerns in providing written English assessments instead of ASL. In this session, we present the results of Confirmatory Factor Analyses exploring the validity of written English counseling assessments (i.e., PHQ-9, GAD-7, and Flourishing Scale) with 215 DHH college students. We discuss implications for counselors who work with DHH clients.
