About me
Dr. Donna Sheperis is Professor and Chair of the Dept. of Counseling, as well as the Director of the wClinic@PAU, at Palo Alto University. She earned her PhD in Counselor Education from the University of Mississippi and has taught for land based and online programs since 2000. Dr. Sheperis is a Licensed Professional Counselor (AZ; TX; LPCC-CA), National Certified Counselor, Board Certified Telemental Health Provider, and Approved Clinical Supervisor with over 30 years of experience in clinical mental health settings.
Dr. Sheperis is the Past-President of the Association for Assessment and Research in Counseling. She has served as Co-Chair of the ACA Ethics Committee and currently serves on the ACA Ethics Appeals Committee. She has authored more than 30 articles in peer reviewed journals, as well as multiple book chapters, and textbooks. She recently published the second editions of Ethical Decision Making for 21st Century Counselors for Cognella and Clinical Mental Health Counseling: Fundamentals of Applied Practice for Cognella. Her recent areas of research include the use of artifical intelligence in clinical practice, supervision, and counselor education.
