About me
Hannah M. Coyt, Ph.D., LPCC-S, NCC, CCMHC has been a licensed counselor in Kentucky since 2000. She has worked in the mental health field for over 20 years with various populations including SMI adults, SED children, geriatric clients, veterans, families, couples and substance use clients. Dr. Coyt has managerial experience in both community mental health, as well as private practice. During her experience in community mental health, Dr. Coyt designed and implemented a youth summer program for a ten county area in which she managed three counties during the operational phase. Additionally, Dr. Coyt has been a board approved supervisor since 2001.
Hannah has also taught courses for Lindsey Wilson College as a clinical affiliate faculty member in the Human Services and Counseling program since 2002, and recently became Assistant Professor. Additionally, she instructs graduate courses at Western Kentucky University for the Counseling and Student Affairs department.
She has presented at various local, state and regional conferences, some of which were invited presentations. Additionally, she has publications regarding work with Appalachian culture. Her presentations include topics such as addictions, assessment in substance use, suicide, minority Appalachian women in higher education, law enforcement, and geriatric issues.
Her research interests include barriers to law enforcement officers seeking mental health services, pornography addiction, assessment tools in counseling, substance use and issues of marginalized Appalachian women in higher education.
